How does the Dangote Refinery IPO 1-extra-share incentive programme work?

Hi, please is it on every 10 shares i hold for 12 months without selling that I’ll be given 1 extra share? For instance, if I hold 50 shares for 1 year without selling, I’ll be given 5 extra, i.e, 1 each for every 10? Talking about Dangote Refinery shares

Let me explain in a way that Mama Ngozi selling tomatoes in the village can easily understand. Imagine you have a small farm where you plant tomatoes. Now, think of Dangote Refinery shares as seeds you plant in the ground. When you hold onto these seeds (shares) for a certain time, something interesting may happen.

Now, if Dangote Refinery says that for every 10 seeds you have planted and kept for a year without selling, they will give you an extra seed, it means if you have 50 seeds (shares) and you keep them for a year without selling, you will indeed receive 5 extra seeds, just as you mentioned.

This process is like a reward for being a loyal farmer who patiently waits for their seeds to grow. So, yes, in a way, you can think of it as getting 1 extra share for every 10 shares you hold for the specified time.

However, please remember that the exact rules for receiving these “extra seeds” may vary, so it’s always good to check the specific terms and conditions set by Dangote Refinery or any other company offering such rewards. It’s like how different farms may have different rules for giving bonuses to farmers who patiently nurture their crops.

I hope this simple analogy helps you understand how holding onto your shares for a certain period could potentially lead to receiving additional shares in return. Now you can tend to your share-farm just like you would your precious tomatoes and watch them grow over time!
