If I lost my only source of income today, I honestly wouldn’t be able to survive for very long without borrowing. Most of what I earn goes straight into essential expenses and keeping my work/business running, leaving very little room for emergency savings.
And that’s the scary part about financial hardship: you don’t always need to be lazy or irresponsible to become financially vulnerable. Sometimes, one unexpected event is enough to wipe out the little stability you’ve built.
What I need isn’t simply someone to give me money and walk away. I need an opportunity, financial assistance, tools, or capital that can help me generate sustainable income. If someone helps me get back on my feet, my goal is to turn that assistance into something productive—and eventually become someone capable of helping others too.
Sometimes, the difference between someone struggling and someone succeeding isn’t talent. It’s simply having someone willing to give them an opportunity at the right moment.
