    1. Save first: Build a 3-6 month emergency fund in a safe account. Only touch it for real emergencies.
    2. Pay yourself a “salary”: When money comes in, set aside a fixed % to save/invest before spending.
    3. Invest small + consistently:Use low-risk options like Treasury Bills, money market funds. Automate it on good months.
    4. Avoid debt: Don’t borrow based on “future” income.
    5. Diversify income: Add 1-2 side income streams so you’re not relying on just one.

Here’s what I think you should do: Protect cash first, then grow it slowly.

In Capital Gains, you earn money when you sell the shares. You buy low, sell high. Profit = Selling price – Buying price. Like selling a house for more than you bought it.

    The major difference is that:
    Dividends means income over time
Capital Gains means profit from price increase

If government brings back fuel subsidy, imported fuel becomes cheaper than Dangote’s locally refined fuel. People and marketers will buy the subsidized imports instead.

This will result in lower demand for Dangote’s fuel which will lead to lower sales and lower profits which will make the refinery run below capacity.

Subsidy basically makes it harder for local refineries to compete unless government also subsidies them.
