Why Are My Mutual Fund Orders Not Executed in Nigeria and Do They Have Specific Trading Hours?

I am having an issue , since Friday afternoon I have tried severally to buy Zedcrest Equity funds, Paramount Equity fund of Investnaija and also ARM aggressive growth fund, but on each occasion after placing it , they will tell me that the trade will be executed the next business day only to return and see my funds still in the wallet without executing same . Please what can be the reason .
Must it be done ONLY within the trading hours? The earlier ones I did was done off trading hours and they got executed the business day without qualms . What’s the issue? I need a response or guidance from anyone here quite knowledgeable about it.

What you’re experiencing is actually common with mutual funds in Nigeria, especially with funds like:
    Zedcrest Capital (Zedcrest Equity Fund)
    InvestNaija (Paramount Equity Fund)
ARM Investment Managers (ARM Aggressive Growth Fund)
Let me break down why your orders are not executing 👇
Main Reasons Your Mutual Fund Orders Are Not Executing
    1. Mutual Funds Do NOT Trade Like Stocks
Unlike stocks, mutual funds in Nigeria don’t execute instantly.
    They operate using:
    Cut-off times
    NAV pricing (Net Asset Value)
    Fund manager processing windows
    This means:
    You place order today
    Fund manager processes tomorrow
    Execution happens later
    Sometimes 1–3 business days.
    2. Cut-Off Time Issue (Most Likely Your Problem)
Most Nigerian fund managers use cut-off times like:
    12:00 PM
    1:00 PM
    2:00 PM
If you place after cut-off time, your order moves to:
    👉 Next business day processing
    Now here’s the catch:
If you placed Friday afternoon, then:
Friday after cut-off → moves to Monday
Monday queue backlog → may move to Tuesday
Some funds only price once daily
    So delay happens.
    3. Fund May Be Temporarily Not Accepting New Money
    This also happens sometimes when:
    Fund is rebalancing
    Market volatility is high
    Liquidity management
    System maintenance
Fund managers may temporarily hold subscriptions.
    This happens often with:
    Aggressive equity funds
    High demand funds
    4. Platform Processing Delay (InvestNaija / Others)
    Sometimes the issue is:
    Platform batching orders
    Registrar confirmation delay
    Payment reconciliation delay
Your money stays in wallet until confirmed.
    5. Weekends Don’t Count
    Remember:
    Saturday ❌
    Sunday ❌
    Public holidays ❌
    Only business days count
So Friday afternoon → Monday processing.
Must It Be Done Within Trading Hours?
Short answer: No — but it’s safer.
You can place anytime, but best practice is:
Best Time to Place Mutual Fund Orders
    ✅ 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM (Best)
    ⚠️ 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (Risky)
❌ After 2:00 PM (Often delayed)
Why Your Previous Orders Worked Off Trading Hours
    Because:
    No backlog at that time
    Lower volume
    Fund open for subscription
    Platform faster that day
Mutual fund execution is not always consistent.
    What You Should Do Now
    Here’s the best approach:
    Step 1
    Place order early morning tomorrow
    Step 2
    Wait 1–2 business days
    Step 3
    If still not executed:
    Contact:
    InvestNaija support
    Fund manager directly
