See lessWhy Your Bamboo Funding Account Changed
There are 3 common reasons this happens:
1. Bamboo Uses Dynamic / Virtual Account Numbers
Bamboo assigns unique account numbers for wallet top-ups
These account numbers can change over time depending on payment provider or system updates
This is common with fintech apps in Nigeria (like Opay, Moniepoint, Paystack virtual accounts)
Bamboo itself confirms that users are given a unique account number for direct wallet funding, and you should always copy the account details inside the app before sending money.
2. Payment Provider Change
Sometimes Bamboo changes:
Bank partner (e.g. Providus → Wema → Sterling etc.)
Account number format
Wallet provider
When this happens, your funding account details change automatically.
3. Security / Compliance Updates
Bamboo may also rotate account details:
To prevent fraud
To improve transaction speed
Due to banking regulation changes
Is It Safe To Use The New Account?
Yes — IF the new details are inside your Bamboo app:
Safe to proceed when:
✔ The new account appears inside your Bamboo app
✔ You clicked Deposit → Wallet Top up
✔ The account name still reflects Bamboo / payment partner
Do NOT Proceed If:
⚠ Someone sent the account details via:
WhatsApp
Telegram
Email
Social media
Always trust only the account inside the app.
My Professional Advice (Very Important)
Before sending large money:
Send small test amount (₦1,000 – ₦5,000)
Confirm it reflects
Then send full amount
This is what experienced investors normally do.
Extra (Important for You)
Since you’re serious about investing (you’ve been asking about stocks, MMF, Bamboo etc.), this is actually a good sign:
Bamboo is still actively updating infrastructure
Active platforms usually improve payment systems
Quick Summary
Yes, Bamboo account numbers can change
This is normal and happens in fintech apps
Safe if the new account is inside the app
Test with small amount first

Your confusion is very valid — and you’re actually very close to the correct understanding.
The difference between Afrinvest Treasury Bills and Bamboo Treasury Bills is mainly HOW they are bought, not the investment itself.
Let me explain clearly so that even mama Ngozi in the village can understand.
The Key Difference (Very Important)
Both Afrinvest and Bamboo are selling the same Treasury Bills issued by:
Central Bank of Nigeria
Backed by Federal Government of Nigeria
So: The investment itself is the same
But the buying process is different.
Afrinvest Treasury Bills (Primary Market)
When you buy from Afrinvest on specific Wednesdays:
You are buying during CBN Auction
This happens every two weeks (fortnightly)
You submit before Wednesday
Allocation happens after auction
This is called Primary Market
This is confirmed by Afrinvest:
“Primary market… auction carried out every fortnight… can be bought only every two weeks”
afrinvest.tawk.help
Bamboo Treasury Bills (Secondary Market)
When you buy from Bamboo:
You are buying already issued Treasury Bills
Someone else already bought it
You buy from the secondary market
That’s why you can buy any day
Treasury Bills can be bought:
Primary market (auction)
Secondary market (anytime)
Afrinvest also confirms:
“In the secondary market… can be bought every other day”
afrinvest.tawk.help
Another Difference
Bamboo also offers:
Minimum investment as low as ₦10,000
Easy anytime purchase
Custody handled by third party
This is part of Bamboo’s Treasury Bill offering.

It depends on your goal:
Choose Afrinvest if:
You want potentially better rates
You don’t mind waiting
Long-term investor
Choose Bamboo if:
You want flexibility
You want to invest anytime
Smaller investment amount
Smart Investors Use Both
Many investors:
Buy from Afrinvest (auction)
Buy from Bamboo (when they miss auction)
This is actually a very smart strategy.
You’re asking very strong investor-level questions — you’re thinking like a fixed income investor already.
One more thing: When you bought on 11 March, what tenor did you choose?
91 days
182 days
364 days

Having 2 different CSCS and one CHN across bamboo and cowrywise does not affect your investments in any way, that’s how it’s meant to be.
CSCS is likened to your bank account number
While CHN is likened to your BVN
Your shares are not sitting in your stockbroker but in your CSCS
For example if you are using stockbroker A and Stockbroker B, then you are having issues with stockbroker A, you can transfer your shares from A to B, since it’s one CHN that runs across the two brokers. What you have to do is to email the current broker you want to use currently, that you have shares in Broker A and you provide you CSCS number, if will be verified and find out that it is connected to your CHN which carries your details and information, then Stockbroker B will now discuss with your other Stockbroker A to initiate the transfer of your investments and it will be done within some days.
Now, your second question
Bamboo do not offer Mutual Funds (MMMF)
But cowrywise offer mutual funds, the only thing is that beginners Will not be able to identify mutual funds on cowrywise, when you open cowrywise
You click on invest on the top middle
It will open you to
NG Stocks, Naira mutual funds and dollars mutual funds
You then click on Naira mutual funds
You will see different mutual funds
You can choose conservative portfolio, where your capital is been protected while you earn steady low returns.
But I advise you to choose the one you wish based on your research about it, the fees of each brokers, how you can easily understand and adapt to their User Interface.

First…
Payment does NOT always mean the shares have been fully processed.
There is something called:
👉 trade settlement and execution
Let Me Explain With a Simple Story
Imagine your friend sent money to buy rice in the market.
The money has left her hand…
But the seller has not yet delivered the rice.
At that moment:
• money is gone
• goods are not yet visible
Does it mean she has been scammed?
No.
It may just mean the transaction is still being processed.
Oya… Here Are the Real Possible Causes
1. Order Was NOT Successfully Executed
This is the most common reason.
What may have happened:
• she placed a buy order
• money was debited
• but the order did NOT go through
Why?
• price changed before execution
• no seller at that price
• market conditions
👉 In this case, the money is usually returned to the wallet (sometimes after a delay).
2. Order Is Still Pending
Sometimes:
• the order has not been matched yet
• especially if she used a limit order
So the system is still trying to find a seller.
3. Transaction Is “Processing”
There may be:
• internal processing delay
• system lag
• settlement delay
Normally, stock transactions can take:
👉 minutes to a few days (depending on the market)
4. App Display/Network Issue
Sometimes the shares are already there…
But:
• the app did not refresh
• there is a temporary glitch
Simple fix:
• log out and log in
• update the app
5. Wrong Account Section
This one surprises many people.
She may be checking:
• the wrong portfolio
• or wrong market (local vs foreign)
6. Funding vs Buying Confusion
Sometimes what happened is:
• money was only funded into Bamboo wallet
• but no actual share purchase was completed
So:
👉 money left the bank
👉 but was not used to buy shares yet
7. Compliance or Verification Delay
If her account:
• is not fully verified
• has pending KYC issues
The transaction may be held.
Though most times they won’t even allow you buy
8. Rare Case: Failed Transaction Reversal Delay
If the transaction failed:
• reversal may take time
• especially with banks
Let Me Be Very Honest With You
Since this happened since February,
this is NOT a normal delay anymore.
👉 Something needs to be checked immediately.
What She Should Do RIGHT NOW
Tell her to do these steps:
Step 1: Check Transaction History
Inside Bamboo:
• look for the order status
• check if it says:
Step 2: Check Wallet Balance
See if:
• the money returned to wallet
• or is still locked
Step 3: Contact Bamboo Support (VERY IMPORTANT)
She should:
• send email through the app
• include:
Step 4: Check Bank Statement
Confirm:
• exact amount debited
• transaction reference
Step 5: Follow Up Consistently
Do not just send one message and wait.
Follow up until resolved.
