Has the May 2026 FGN bond allotment been completed?
Yes — the May 2026 FGN Bond allotment process has already been completed by the dmo.gov.ng. The May 2026 auction results were released around May 18–19, 2026, and settlement was scheduled for May 20, 2026. Yes — the May 2026 FGN Bond allotment process has already been completed by the dmo.gov.ng. The May 2026 auction results were released around May 18–19, 2026, and settlement was scheduled for May 20, 2026.
See lessSo if you subscribed on May 5 through the InvestNaija app, your allotment should normally have started reflecting either:
on your app,
in your CSCS holdings,
or in your investment statement around the settlement period.
Since this is your first FGN Bond subscription, here is what likely explains the delay:
Broker/App processing delay
Some platforms update holdings slower than the official DMO settlement date. It can take several business days after allotment before the bond position appears in-app.
Partial allotment or pending reconciliation
FGN Bonds can sometimes be oversubscribed. Investors may receive:
full allotment,
partial allotment,
or delayed confirmation from the broker.
CSCS linkage or account-matching issue
If your:
name,
BVN,
CHN,
CSCS,
or bank details do not match correctly, the broker may still be reconciling the transaction.
Your next line of action:
check whether your debit/payment was successful,
confirm that you received a subscription confirmation email/SMS,
contact the InvestNaija support team and ask specifically:
“Has my May 2026 FGN Bond allotment been processed?”
“What quantity/unit was allotted to me?”
“When will it reflect in my holdings?”
Also ask them whether the bond is being warehoused temporarily before pushing to your CSCS/investment dashboard.
Since this was your first subscription, another important point: FGN Bonds are not always displayed immediately the same way stocks appear on trading apps. Some platforms post them under:
fixed income,
bond portfolio,
investments,
or treasury holdings instead of the regular stock section.
The official DMO auction and allotment results for May 2026 have already been published.
Why Is My FGN Bond Not Reflecting in My InvestNaija App After Investing in Nigeria?
This is usually a processing, settlement, or integration issue between the bond allotment system, CSCS, and the broker platform — not necessarily that your investment failed. This is usually a processing, settlement, or integration issue between the bond allotment system, CSCS, and the broker platform — not necessarily that your investment failed.
See lessSince you said you invested in the February 2026 FGN Bond, here are the most likely causes:
The bond has not yet been linked to your CSCS/CHN properly
InvestNaija has not synced the fixed-income asset to their app dashboard
Your broker purchased it manually/off-platform
Settlement/allotment delay from the registrar or CSCS
You used a different CHN or name variation during subscription
FGN Savings Bonds are normally registered through the depository system (CSCS).
The February 2026 FGN Savings Bond allotment was completed around February 11, 2026.
So by now, it should ordinarily appear somewhere in your holdings if everything matched correctly.
Here is how to diagnose the exact issue:
1. Confirm the investment was actually allotted
Check:
Debit alert from your bank
Contract note/email
Allotment confirmation
DMO or broker acknowledgment
If your money was debited but later refunded, then your subscription may not have been successful.
2. Check whether the bond exists on your CSCS account
This is the most important step.
Your FGN Bond may already be sitting inside your CSCS account even though InvestNaija is not displaying it.
You can:
Check your CSCS statement
Use the CSCS mobile app/portal
Request your stockbroker to send your full CSCS holdings statement
FGN Bonds are maintained within the CSCS infrastructure.
If the bond appears there, then the issue is only an app-display/integration issue from InvestNaija.
3. Possible CHN mismatch
This is very common in Nigeria.
Example:
Your InvestNaija account uses one CHN
The FGN bond was bought using another broker/CHN
Result: the bond will not reflect inside InvestNaija
Ask InvestNaija support:
“Please confirm the CHN used for my February 2026 FGN Bond subscription and whether it matches my portfolio CHN.”
4. Some broker apps do not display fixed-income securities properly
Many Nigerian investment apps are optimized mainly for:
equities,
ETFs,
mutual funds,
while bonds may:
appear separately,
appear only on statements,
or not display at all.
A Reddit discussion even noted that some Nigerian platforms handle bond transactions manually or outside the normal trading dashboard.
5. Contact InvestNaija support with exact details
Send:
Your full name
CHN
Subscription date
Amount invested
Bond tenor (2-year or 3-year)
Evidence of debit/payment
Ask them specifically:
Was the bond allotted?
Which CHN was used?
Why is it not reflecting?
Is it visible at CSCS level?
Important clarification
FGN Bonds are not like normal savings accounts where you “withdraw anytime.”
You generally:
hold till maturity and receive coupon payments periodically, OR
sell through the secondary market via your broker.
The February 2026 FGN Savings Bond pays quarterly coupons.

Why can’t I see my FGN bond investment on Stanbic IBTC app or other Nigerian platforms and how can I track it?
You’re not alone—this exact issue happens to many people investing in FGN Bonds in Nigeria. The confusion is coming from where the bond is actually held vs where you expect to see it. You’re not alone—this exact issue happens to many people investing in FGN Bonds in Nigeria. The confusion is coming from where the bond is actually held vs where you expect to see it.
See lessLet me walk you through it clearly.
🔴 First truth (this is key)
FGN Bonds are NOT like stocks or mutual funds apps.
They are issued by the government via the Debt Management Office
They are usually held through:
A broker
A bank (as agent)
Or in a CSCS / custody account (indirectly)
👉 That means: You may NOT see them inside your normal Stanbic mobile app.
Even the Stanbic IBTC Mobile App mainly shows:
Bank accounts
Mutual funds
Stocks (if linked)
—not necessarily direct bond holdings
🧠 Why you can’t find your FGN Bond
There are 3 likely scenarios:
✅ Scenario 1: You bought via Stanbic (most likely)
Stanbic acted as a receiving agent, not the storage platform.
👉 So your bond is:
Held with Stanbic Stockbrokers / Asset Management
NOT inside the normal banking dashboard
📌 Evidence: Stanbic is officially used as a bond subscription agent
✅ Scenario 2: You bought through a broker (Coronation / Chapel Hill)
Now this is very important.
You mentioned:
Coronation Merchant Bank
Chapel Hill Denham
👉 In this case:
Your bond is sitting with their custody system
NOT visible on:
Stanbic app
InvestNaija
Bamboo
✅ Scenario 3: You subscribed to FGN Savings Bond
If it was the ₦5,000 minimum type, then:
It is recorded in a registry system
Updates are usually via:
Email (offer statement)
Broker statement
—not app tracking
⚠️ Why you haven’t received updates
This is the real problem:
Many Nigerian brokers don’t send regular updates
FGN bonds are low-activity investments
No daily price movement like stocks
You only hear from them:
At interest payment
Or maturity
👉 So silence does NOT mean your money is gone.
✅ How to locate your bond NOW (practical steps)
Do this in order:
Step 1 — Check your email history
Search:
“FGN Bond”
“Allotment”
“DMO”
“Stanbic”
“Coronation”
“Chapel Hill”
👉 You should find:
Allotment notice
Investment confirmation
Step 2 — Contact the exact platform you used
If Stanbic:
Email: customercarenigeria@stanbicibtc.com
Or visit branch
Ask:
“Please provide my FGN Bond holdings and CSCS/custody details”
If Coronation / Chapel Hill:
Contact them directly:
Ask for:
Statement of holdings
Custody account details
Coupon payment history
Step 3 — Ask for your “CSCS or custody reference”
Even though bonds are OTC, they still have tracking records.
Step 4 — Confirm coupon payments
FGN bonds pay interest periodically.
👉 Check your bank account:
Have you received any “interest” payments?
If YES → your bond is active
If NO → follow up immediately
🧾 Simple explanation (no confusion)
Think of it like this:
Stocks → live inside apps (Bamboo, InvestNaija)
Mutual funds → inside app dashboards
FGN Bonds → kept with broker/bank records (not visible easily)
⚠️ Important warning
Don’t invest again until you fix this.
Because:
You’re investing blindly without tracking
You don’t know your maturity dates
You can miss coupon payments
✔️ My direct advice to you
Based on your situation:
Start using one structured platform going forward
e.g. InvestNaija or a trusted broker
Keep records:
Screenshot every investment
Save emails
Avoid spreading investments across too many places
Why is my FGN bond coupon payment delayed on Afrinvest in Nigeria and how can I resolve it?
This situation is frustrating, but it’s also quite common with FGN bond coupon payments—so don’t assume something is wrong yet. 1. This situation is frustrating, but it’s also quite common with FGN bond coupon payments—so don’t assume something is wrong yet.
See less1. First, understand how FGN bond coupon payments work
FGN bond coupons are processed through:
Debt Management Office Nigeria (issuer)
Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS)
Your broker (e.g. Afrinvest)
👉 The key point: Payment date ≠ same day you receive cash in your bank
2. Normal delay timeline (very important)
Even if your coupon date is April 21, typical flow is:
Day 0 (21st): DMO releases funds
Day 1–2: CSCS processes
Day 2–4: Broker credits client accounts
✔ So receiving it between 23rd – 25th is still normal
3. Most likely reasons for your delay
a. Processing lag (most common)
Especially if 21st was close to a weekend or public holiday
b. Payment route issue
FGN bond coupons do NOT go directly from Afrinvest to your bank
They go through:
CSCS → your linked bank account (via e-dividend mandate)
👉 Meaning: Having bank details on Afrinvest alone is not enough
4. Critical check you must do now
✔ Do you have an E-Dividend Mandate set up?
If NO:
Your coupon may be sitting unclaimed or pending
If YES:
Confirm:
Bank name
Account number
BVN linkage
5. What you should do immediately
Step 1 — Wait 1–2 more working days
Since today is 23rd:
Give it till 25th–26th
Step 2 — Contact Afrinvest if not received
Tell them clearly:
“My FGN bond coupon dated April 21 has not been credited. Kindly confirm if payment has been received from CSCS and whether my e-dividend mandate is correctly linked.”
Step 3 — Verify your CSCS details
Ask Afrinvest to confirm:
Your CSCS account number
Whether your bank account is linked at CSCS level
Step 4 — If needed, update e-dividend
You can do this via:
Your bank
Or registrar platforms
(They will link your BVN to your account for automatic payments)
6. Less common but possible issues
Wrong/inactive bank account
BVN mismatch
Name mismatch between CSCS and bank
Registrar/payment delay
7. Important insight (many investors miss this)
Unlike stocks:
FGN bond coupons are more structured
But still depend heavily on:
CSCS records (not just your broker app)
Bottom line
You’re only 2 days past date → still within normal delay window
Most likely processing lag or CSCS linkage issue
If not received by early next week → escalate through Afrinvest
