Why Has My Meristem Trade Been Pending Since Monday Despite Funding My Account?

If your trade on meristemng.com has been pending since Monday despite:
    funding your account,
    having a created CSCS account,
    and completing registration,
then the issue is usually one of these operational or market-related reasons:
    Most Likely Causes
    1. You placed a LIMIT order at a price sellers are not accepting
This is the most common reason.
    Example:
    Current market sellers want ₦52
You placed buy order at ₦49
    Your order stays pending until:
    market price falls,
or a seller agrees to your price.
    This happens frequently on NGX.
    2. Low liquidity / no available sellers
    Some Nigerian stocks trade slowly.
    If:
    few people are selling,
    or demand is very high,
orders can remain pending for days.
    This is common in:
    small-cap stocks,
    newly hyped stocks,
    or stocks on price rally.
    3. Your account may not be fully activated internally
Even after CSCS creation, brokers sometimes still need:
    internal compliance approval,
    CHN linkage,
    KYC confirmation,
    or settlement activation.
    So:
the app may allow you place orders,
but the order is not yet routed fully to NGX.
This especially happens with new accounts.
    4. You may have insufficient “cleared balance”
    Important distinction:
funded balance ≠ cleared trading balance.
    If deposit reconciliation is delayed:
    money may show,
but trading engine has not cleared it yet.
    5. The order may actually be queued but not matched
    On NGX:
trades do not execute instantly like crypto.
A buyer must match a seller.
    Execution depends on:
    volume,
    price,
    market depth,
    and timing.
    What You Should Check Immediately
    Inside your order details, check:
Is it “Pending,” “Queued,” “Open,” or “Executing”?
Is it a MARKET order or LIMIT order?
What exact price did you enter?
What stock did you try buying?
    These matter greatly.
Important NGX Reality Beginners Don’t Know
Nigerian stock market trading is not always instant.
    Unlike crypto apps:
    NGX uses order matching,
    brokers route orders,
    settlement infrastructure is slower,
    liquidity can be thinner.
    So delays of:
    some hours,
    or 1–2 trading sessions,
can happen legitimately depending on the stock.
    But if:
    the order is stuck abnormally,
    cannot be cancelled,
    or no explanation is given,
then broker-side operational delay becomes more likely.
    What You Should Do Now
    Step 1
Check current market price of the stock.
If your limit price is too low:
    cancel the order,
    re-enter closer to market price.
    Step 2
Contact Meristem directly and ask specifically:
Was my order successfully routed to NGX?
    Is my account fully trade-enabled?
    Is there any compliance/reconciliation hold?
Is the issue due to market liquidity or internal processing?
    Step 3
    Request:
    Order ID,
    trade status,
    and exchange routing confirmation.
That forces a more technical response.
You can send them this concise escalation:
    Message
Good day. My trade order has remained pending since Monday despite my account being funded and my CSCS account already created. Kindly confirm whether my order was successfully routed to NGX and whether my account is fully trade-enabled.
Please clarify if the delay is due to:
    market liquidity,
    internal processing,
    compliance review,
    or account activation issues.
I would also appreciate the order ID and the exact status of the transaction because the prolonged pending state without execution is concerning.
    Thank you.

Why Did My NIDF Stock Order Expire Instead of Executing?

    Ochoyoda

Added an answer about 4 months ago

What likely happened is that your order for the NIDF was not matched before the trading window or validity period expired. What likely happened is that your order for the NIDF was not matched before the trading window or validity period expired.
On Nigerian brokerage platforms, “Executing” means the broker has sent the order to the market, but it has not yet found a matching seller at your requested price. “Expired” means the order validity ended before execution.
    Common reasons:
You placed the order during the weekend, so it only entered the market on Monday.
Your bid price may have been lower than the available market price.
NIDF may have had low trading volume/liquidity at that moment.
Some apps automatically cancel unfilled day orders at market close.
    What to do next:
Check if your money was reversed
Most platforms automatically return the funds to your brokerage wallet after the order expires.
This can take a few minutes to several hours depending on the broker.
    Place the order again
Use the current market price instead of an old price.
If your app has “Market Order” or “Best Price,” that usually executes faster than a strict limit price.
    Check market hours
NGX trading is typically weekdays during market hours only.
Orders placed on weekends wait until the next trading session.
    Confirm the order type
“Day Order” expires same day if not filled.
“Good Till Cancelled (GTC)” stays active longer if your broker supports it.
If funds are not returned after 24 hours
    Contact your broker’s support with:
    Order ID
    Screenshot of the expired status
    Amount involved
Also note: NIDF is an ETF/fund-type instrument, so liquidity can sometimes be thinner than heavily traded bank stocks like GTCO or Zenith Bank. That can affect how quickly orders get matched.

If the transfer has not reflected since last Wednesday and investbamboo.com has not responded, then treat it as an unresolved payment dispute and escalate it properly instead of waiting silently.
Here’s the practical next step sequence:
    Gather evidence first
    Bank debit alert
    Transaction receipt
    Session ID / transaction reference
Screenshot showing your Bamboo wallet balance not updated
    Date and exact amount transferred
Contact Bamboo through all official channels Use only their verified channels from their official site/app:
    In-app support chat
    Support email
    Official social pages
    Official website: investbamboo.com
    Support page: help.investbamboo.com
Send a structured complaint Do not just say “my money is missing.” Include:
    Full name
    Registered email/phone
    Amount
    Date/time
    Bank used
    Transaction reference
    Proof attached
    Deadline request for resolution
You can send something like this:
    Message
Good day. I transferred ₦[amount] to my Bamboo wallet on [date/time], but it has not reflected till now.
Registered email/phone: [details] Bank used: [bank name] Transaction reference/session ID: [reference]
I have attached proof of payment and screenshots. Kindly investigate and credit my wallet or reverse the transaction urgently.
This issue has remained unresolved since last Wednesday and I need immediate feedback.
Contact your bank immediately Very important.
    Ask your bank:
    Was the transaction successful?
    Was it processed through Paystack/Flutterwave/Providus/etc.?
Can they trace or recall it?
    Request a transaction status report
Sometimes the receiving processor delays settlement, not necessarily Bamboo itself.
Escalate if no response within 48–72 hours If Bamboo still ignores you:
File complaint with SEC Nigeria if it concerns investment wallet funding
File complaint with FCCPC for unresolved consumer issue
    Relevant bodies:
    sec.gov.ng
    fccpc.gov.ng
Avoid sending more money meanwhile Until the issue is resolved, avoid additional deposits to that wallet.
Also be careful about people in comment sections giving “WhatsApp support numbers.” Scammers often target frustrated users pretending to be support agents. Use only contacts listed on Bamboo’s official website/app.

Update this letter and send to them
